Professor Norman Davies travelles around Poland

Professor Norman Davies travelled around Poland on a jet starting on Sunday October 10th until Friday October 24th. On his tour, he visited the Polish cities of Warsaw, Lodz, Wroclaw and Opole.
The tour began in Warsaw with a press conference at the Polish Press Agency. This was followed by two meetings with his readers: one at the Polish Academy of Sciences at Staszic Palace and another at the bookstore, Empiku. Afterwards, Professor Davies travelled to Lodz, where four meetings were scheduled. The first took place in Lodz Business Club under the patronage of Jacek Saryusz-Wolski. Later, the Professor gave a lecture at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Lodz. He also visited Empik in Manufaktura. The visit to Lodz finished with a meeting at the European Institute, which has a history rich in solidarity. Later, Professor Davies travelled to Wroclaw, where he promoted his latest book TO and FROM, at the Ossolineum. The President of Wroclaw, Rafal Dutkiewicz together with Member of Parliament, Kazimierz Michal Ujazdowski and the Director of Ossolineum, Professor Adolf Juzwenko, also participated. Here, too, Professor Davies took time to meet with his readers, in the heart of the city, in the Empik bookstore on the market. In Opole, under the patronage of the President of Opole, Professor Davies gave a remarkable lecture to the people of Opole on the history of Poland as seen through the prism of stamps, postage stamps, telegrams, postcards, letters and envelopes, which he has been collecting with a passion for over 25 years.
