Leslaw Andrzej Paga

Born in 1954, died in 2003. Was an economist and co-creator of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Head of the Exchange Commission since its creation in 1991. Graduated from Maria Curie – Skłodowska University in Lublin. He specialised in the capital market as well as in macroeconomics, and received his PH.D in this field. After graduation, was a researcher at Maria Curie – Skłodowska University, KUL Catholic University of Lublin and Catholic University of America in Washington. Was director of the “Solidarność” Middle-Eastern Regionat the Institute for Social Research. Was appointed advisor to the Minister of Finance in 1989 and later became a department director at the Ministry of Privatization. Was a member of many international associations, such as U.S.-Poland Action Commission and International Organization of Securities Commission – IOSCO. Co-author of the book „Polskie Papiery Wartościowe”.
