Rev. Waldemar Chrostowski

Rev. Waldemar Chrostowski is a Catholic priest, Doctor of Theology, biblical scholar, consultant to the Council of Polish Bishops (responsible for religious dialogue), a professor at the university of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński in Warsaw, Chairman of the Association of Polish Biblical Scholars (engaged in Catholic-Jewish dialogue) and a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences (the Technological sciences committee). He studied at the Papal Institute of Bible Studies in Rome and at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He serves as the Director of the Cathedral of the Exegesis of the Old Testament as well as the establishment of Catholic-Jewish dialogue (Technological Department) at the University of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński in Warsaw. He is also Director of the Establishment of Exegesis and Biblical Theology (Technological Department) at Mikołaj Kopernik University in Toruń. He is the resource primate of the university’s biblical series as well as its science editor. Pope Benedykt XVI invited him to participate in the circle of experts for the 12th Assembly of Common Synod Bishops of the Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church (2008). Rev. Chrostowski initiated the 'God, the Bible, the Messiah interviews' (2007) as well as 'The Church, Jews, Poland' (2009) published by Fronda. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Polish theological periodical Collectanea Theologica, head journalist of the quarterly Fronda, Our Journal, and Universal Review, and a coworker of the Catholic editorial board for the Polish television station TVP. He is a frequent contributor to radio programmes on Radio Maria and features regulraly to the TV programme, Endure. He is the author of both scientific and popular science publications.
